Many members of the real Royal family have claimed to have seen The Crown.

While Queen Elizabeth II did not outright confirm whether she had seen the series or not, actress Vanessa Kirby, who played Princess Margaret in Seasons 1 and 2, claims that the late queen did watch the show. Kirby revealed in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar that a friend of hers heard Princess Eugenie claiming that the late monarch used to watch the show. What’s more, the queen apparently liked it. Princess Eugenie has also revealed that she is a big fan of the show in an interview with Town & Country.

Adding to Kirby’s comments, Matt Smith, who played Prince Philip in Seasons 1 and 2, revealed on The Today Show that the late queen would watch the show every Sunday on a projector. In addition to this, Smith claimed that Price Philip did not watch the show.

Queen Camilla has also reportedly seen the series but was not excited about it. This is according to her nephew Ben Elliot via a Vanity Fair interview.

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have admitted in several interviews that they have seen the series. Princess Anne also revealed via a documentary marking her 70th birthday that she has seen some episodes of the series. Prince Andrew’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, has also revealed that she has seen the show via a US Weekly interview. King Charles also hinted in an interview with Town & Country that he has seen the show.

Olivia Colman, who played Queen Elizabeth II in Seasons 3 and 4 revealed to Graham Norton that Prince William had not seen the show when the actress asked him about it ( via People)
