Unstable Season 2 Set by Netflix, Rob & John Owen Lowe Release Statement

Netflix has officially renewed the comedy series Unstable for a second season, with real-life father-son duo Rob and John Owen Lowe returning for the series.

Unstable Season 2 currently has no real release information, although both Rob Lowe and his son released a statement alongside the news. Both call the renewal of the series “a dream come true.”

“It’s a dream come true for us to jump back into the world of Unstable. Here’s to season two and the many hours of family therapy that we will need along the way,” the pair said in a statement.

What is Unstable about?

“Ellis Dragon is a universally admired, eccentric, narcissist-adjacent biotech entrepreneur working to make the world a better place,” reads the synopsis. “He’s also in emotional free-fall. His son Jackson Dragon is… none of those things. Can Jackson save Ellis and his company and salvage their estranged relationship while also doing what may actually be impossible: escaping the shadow of his larger-than-life father?”

Unstable is created and executive produced by Rob Lowe, John Owen Lowe, and Victor Fresco, with Marc Buckland also set as an executive producer. The 8-episode series will also feature Sian Clifford as Anna, Rachel Marsh as Luna, Emma Ferreira as Ruby, Aaron Branch as Malcolm, and Fred Armisen as Leslie.

Rob Lowe is a former teen actor best best known for his performances in classic 1980s films including The Outsiders, Oxford Blues, St. Elmo’s Fire, and About Last Night. He also gained recognition for his acclaimed performance in the political drama The West Wing, which earned him a Golden Globe and Emmy nomination for Best Actor. He is also currently starring in the procedural drama 9-1-1: Lone Star.
